Event Information

Please join us on January 18th, 2023 to stand up for our hemp and cannabis rights in Richmond, Virginia at the Capitol for the VHC's 10th Annual Lobby Day. After meeting with our delegates and senators that day, their aides and members of the Governors administration the VHC will be hosting an after party at the Capital Ale House Music Hall, just blocks from the Virginia Capitol. The after party is a ticketed event.

The buffet dinner and after party begins at 6PM (doors) and included in the $35 ticket price (there are a very limited amount of tickets, so get them early before they sell out!) is an awesome full buffet including great tasting foods, some of which will include hemp, along with the concert of two bands (Sisters & Brothers and Christian Q. and the Groove) with music starting at 7pm. In addition, everyone who attends lobby day and/or the after party gets a free, custom, VHC lobby day t-shirt! There will be a full cash bar in the music hall which will include hemp beers and CBD mixed drinks for purchase among other delicious beverages.

So please join us for a great day of hemp/cannabis advocacy at the Capitol, and then let’s have a little fun after the day is done. Let’s speak truth to power - together! Don't let the politicians forget that they work for US - WE THE PEOPLE. It's time for all the double standards and the old and failed draconian prohibition tactics to stop dead in their tracks. It's time for us all to be respected as hemp/cannabis consumers and businesses. IT'S TIME!

Band Bios:

Sisters & Brothers:

Sisters & Brothers is a collection of polished, driven, and adventurous musicians focused on creating the musically unique experience found within the catalogue of the Jerry Garcia Band. Creating excitingly smooth grooves and rhythmic sensation, the band cruises through classic JGB material with the genuine feeling for the music that famously defined Jerry Garcia and the spirit that he brought aside from The Grateful Dead. The band formed in 2018 to celebrate the music of The Jerry Garcia Band, however they have since gone on to write original music. Having done so, Sisters & Brothers was selected to perform as part of the Rock’n To Lock’n Festival series in 2020 out of hundreds of submissions. The band carries that positive energy forward through unknown times that are our post-pandemic world. Performing sold out shows in their hometown as well as regional touring on the east coast and mid-west. The band is firing on all cylinders in 2022, bringing their inclusive rhythm and groove to as many areas as possible!

Christian Q. & The Groove:

After landing a Callback Audition to American Idol in early 2022, powerhouse vocalist, Christian Quesenberry & his band, The Groove hit the ground running and have spent the last year touring all over Central & Southwest Virginia, playing over 100 shows and quickly gaining recognition for their captivating stage presence, sensational vocal blending, and dynamic performances. A multi-genre list jam band, this four piece ensemble weaves through numerous styles of music, with roots in Blues, Rock, Folk, Soul, & R&B. They draw some influence from other greats like Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Tyler Childers, The Marcus King Band, The Grateful Dead, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Fleetwood Mac, Bill Withers and many more! A true party band, this group brings the fun and fire to every performance!
